Norton Utilities Ultimate’s Startup Optimizer lets you easily enable or disable software programs from running automatically when your computer boots afresh to improve performance. On that front, it’s a power user’s dream and existing Norton users will feel right at home with the user interface.
Oddly, Utilities Ultimate scanned my test laptop as soon as the application loaded and before I could even put my product key in. An eager beaver then, but that scan didn’t take long, giving me a summary within a few seconds. Uninstalling software programs may seem trivial, but it’s a critical tool. That’s good but Norton doesn’t state how much space you’re saving which seems like an odd ommission. The result was 1550 issues found, but the interface was greyed out and the health meter hidden until I activated the software. Although that sounds like a lot, Utilities Ultimate stated that the system status was good before taking any action.

The competition Norton Utilities is costly, especially for individual users. We recommend it for enterprise users. An annual subscription of Norton Utilities Ultimate covers up to 10 PCs, so it’s better suited for enterprises. There’s also no macOS version of Norton Utilities Ultimate, which is a disadvantage. It’s only for Windows users. If we could, we’d reduce the price and make it compatible with macOS.
