About this deal

The device also features Super Nighttime Standby which uses AI to learn users sleep patterns and reduce power consumption to control battery use to within 2 to 3 per cent of total capacity during a single night. It is the screen you expect for the price and the same as the. It shares many specs with this model, which is only available on a mobile plan from Konec. Throttling loses 9% of its power under load over 15 minutes with a maximum of 96,375 GIPS, an average of 91,363 and a minimum of 72,292. It is not a powerhouse – a reasonable SD4XX processor has closer to 150,000 GIPS. Comms Wi-Fi 5 AC, BT 5.0 but no NFC – Passable There is some bloatware on the phone when you first login, with Booking.com and LinkedIn apps pre-installed. You can uninstall these apps when you first boot in though. The OPPO AI Camera array, consisting of the 50MP main sensor with 2MP depth sensor on the rear and a 5MP selfie-cam on the front. There’s options for portrait shooting and low-light photography. using the combo on the rear, with the front camera offering a Fill Light option which lights up the screen if you need a little more light.

It will not run OpenCL or Vulkan GPU tests and falls over in GFX Bench T-Rex and Manhattan tests. Simply put, the GPU is not for gaming. It is slow. Apps can take seconds to open, and the Geekbench single/multi-core score is 171/1037 (we feel a usable phone starts around 500/1500). Oppo A17 mobile was launched in September 2022. The phone comes with a 6.56-inch touchscreen display offering a resolution of 720x1612 pixels. Oppo A17 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P35 (MT6765) processor. It comes with 4GB of RAM. The Oppo A17 runs Android 12 and is powered by a 5000mAh battery. The Oppo A17 features a sleek and stylish design with a plastic build that exudes a premium feel. It boasts a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels, which offers vibrant colors and decent outdoor visibility. The phone’s slim profile and lightweight design make it comfortable to hold and use. Battery and Performance The battery life on the OPPO A17 comfortably saw me through two days of use with at least seven to eight hours of screen on time, with one 3-day stretch offering upwards of 11 hours of screen on time across that period.Overall, it’s not a performance focused phone, but it does run apps and games well once they’re loaded into memory. It’s more suited to running one app at a time, so if that’s your plan this is a decent option.

No USB-C. While the OPPO A17 has a generous battery, it's let down by its micro USB connector. On top of being all but defunct as a standard, micro USB results in long charge times; expect up to three hours to entirely top up the OPPO A17. While this doesn't matter if you normally recharge your phone overnight, it's a sharp contrast to the fast charging tech OPPO often touts across its devices. The OPPO A17 definitely isn't the right call if you're interested in mobile gaming. While Vampire Survivors ran smoothly enough, firing up Marvel Snap resulted in a stuttery experience. Installing more demanding games like Diablo Immortal is entirely out of the question. Various connectivity options on the OPPO A17 include WiFi - 802.11, a/b/g/n/n 5GHz, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth - v5.3, and 4G (supports Indian bands), 3G, 2G. Sensors on the OPPO A17 include Geomagnetic Sensor, Light Sensor, Proximity Sensor, Accelerometer, Gravity Sensor. There are a capable pair of rear-facing cameras – a 50MP main and an 8MP ultrawide sensor – which, thanks to the N2 Flip's huge 3.26-inch portrait cover display, can be used to snap high-quality selfies and video, with ease. Night mode – why bother? It gives it a little more detail and colour but at the expense of dynamic range. In the camera department, the Oppo A17 features a 50MP primary camera on the rear with an f/2.2 aperture, which captures decent photos in well-lit conditions. However, it may struggle in low-light situations. For selfies, there’s a 5MP front-facing camera with an f/2.4 aperture, suitable for casual selfie enthusiasts and video calls. It offers various camera features and modes to enhance your photography experience. Storage and Connectivity The maximum volume is 80dB (average). It has no low- or mid-bass, very little high-bass, and recessed treble, making this a Mid sound signature: (bass recessed, mid-boosted, treble recessed) – for clear voice. MediaTek modems generally don’t find more than the closest tower – this is no different. If you want better phone coverage, look for Qualcomm-equipped phones. Battery – suitable for a day or two – Pass+ Screen brightness also caps out at 600 nits, which isn’t terribly bright, but suitable for indoor use. Users who are planning to spend more of their day outside might find themselves squinting to fight through glare on a sunny day, affecting general scrolling, photography accuracy when framing and reading long portions of text. Performance

The OPPO A17 is powered by a MediaTek Helio G35 Mobile processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage on-board. You can expand that storage with a microSD card which is always helpful in these budget phones. But AI depends on processor strength, and the MediaTek SoC does not have enough to make a significant difference with this 50MP sensor. It takes decent pictures in day or office light but is inadequate in low light. The only real compromise is the slow MediaTek Helio G35 processor and its impact on 4G modem antenna signal strength and AI post-processing photo enhancement. The other items, like micro-USB charging, can be overlooked. The Bluetooth has a mind blowing range, the display is crystal clear, I love the functions especially the torch mode, it definitely comes in handy when I've dropped something in the dark.
