Hands on: Experiment with how you push to see what works best for you. 'There have been various studies done on one handed or two handed pushing,' says Wendy. 'I prefer one handed as it feels more natural, but it’s not necessarily faster.' Running buggy extras We tend to use this buggy for off-road walks. We live close to lots of woodland walks, and this buggy has been a godsend as it has allowed us to take our baby out on the bumpy paths and grassy areas. The buggy is comfortable to push – easy to manoeuvre around - it is just the right weight, not too heavy but sturdy when out, especially on uneven ground. It is smooth to push and easy to steer, handles kerbs and bumps with ease. The tyres are air filled and strong. It is a good size too, not too clumpy and big, but roomy for the baby. Lightweight, streamlined and lovely to push, this buggy is both stylish and comfortable. As a mum to a daughter who is partial to a buggy nap, the Out N About Nipper Sport has been the ideal choice for me while on the go, whether that's a jog through fields or a walk into town. The suspension is nothing short of amazing, which makes this buggy a breeze to push over bumpy ground - a lifesaver during my many off-road adventures. About the author I would buy this over other similar products and would recommend to parents who like to get outdoors like us and are looking for a buggy that can keep up! Full product spec I had a double Nipper when I nannied for a toddler and took my own toddler with me. Fantastic to push around, one handed steering even when laden with the older siblings school bags and scooters" - Mumsnet user, SingingMyOwnSpecialSong Our verdict

Out n About Nipper 360. I was still running with this with a giant 3 and a half year old sitting comfortably" - Mumsnet user, Seacow87 Our verdict Very impressed with it considering the price. It's used daily on rough, hilly moorland and no issues yet" - Mumsnet user, IamnotwhouthinkIam Our verdict It is perfect for both day to day travel on the paths and for off road routes. As a family we love being outdoors; we love walking up the countryside paths, which can be bumpy and often uncomfortable for the baby, but the Nipper Single allows for smooth travel. We have tested in all weathers and not found any problems. The one-hand recline is handy for dealing with snoozing babies mid-run and the supportive padded seat offers a smooth ride. It’s almost ready to go straight from the box as the seat comes attached to the frame but you’ll need to use a bike pump to inflate the wheels before popping them on the chassis. It’s pricey but it’s well engineered, extremely sturdy and very easy for runners and walkers to manoeuvre. There’s also lots of storage options for stashing on-the-go essentials, a large shopping basket and also a pouch for valuables.

I like that this pram comes with a padded bumper bar as standard for added safety and comfort (it's also ideal for attaching pram toys), and the bar also has a cover that can be removed for washing. The bumper bar can also be clipped into place in two different ways depending on your chosen seat recline angle. Suitable from: Birth to 22kg per seat (around four years) | Weight: 12.8kg | Folded dimensions: 71 x 36 x 79 cm (excluding wheels) | Harness type: 5-point | Adjustable handlebar: Yes What we like Steering: Smooth steering and easy to push thanks to adjustable suspension and air-filled rubber tyres Suitable from: Birth to 22kg (around four years) | Weight: 11.5kg | Folded dimensions: 87 x 69 x 34 cm | Harness type: 5-point | Adjustable handlebar: Yes What we like

As a running buggy, it’s a sturdy piece of kit with a suspension that can be adjusted to suit all running terrains - hello bumpy forest trails! The comfy padded seat (with five-point harness) offers a smooth ride and has plenty of room for kids of all sizes. There’s a rear light for added safety on grey days and adjustable airflow vents for sunny ones. Safety features: A five-point harness ensures that your child is securely fastened into the pram seat when out and about on a run. Most running buggies feature a handbrake making it easier to slow down than having to use a foot brake. The Thule Urban Glide 2 comes with an integrated twist handbrake that can help control speed when jogging up and down steep hills. I used an Out nAbout Nipper Sport from birth - it's my only buggy. If you like running, it's a better model than the 360" - Mumsnet user, Cornishmumofone The latest instalment of Out N About’s popular three-wheel running buggy, the Nipper Sport V4 is one such example. Ideal for jogging enthusiasts and lovers of the great outdoors, it offers all parents need to stay active with their child in tow. How we tested the Out N About Nipper Sport V4 Weight: The lighter the overall weight of the pram, the easier it is to push, especially if you’re transporting an older child across uneven terrain. Look for a lightweight option with an aluminium frame.Prams with a swivel wheel (out n about nipper, Thule urban glide, mountain buggy) are a great middle ground. Still got really decent size wheels and the option to fix the front wheel for off road or have the swivel for when out and about in time" - Mumsnet user, SillyBry Our verdict I love our double Nipper and used it from newborn with the newborn insert. Be aware that as they are real tyres they can get punctures, so be prepared to have to fix them" - Mumsnet user, Postmanbear The canopy on this pram is larger than similar products and is perfect for keeping the sun out of your baby’s eyes. Equally the rain cover is also great, my baby always stays dry when we have used the cover on the pram! Take it slow: It’s best to start things off slowly and gradually increase your pace as you become more comfortable with running with your child in tow.

There’s no doubt that the Out N About Nipper Sport V4 has been designed primarily with running in mind, but it also functions very well as a day-to-day buggy, particularly if you live in a rural area and regularly do a good amount of off-roading like I do. Another hazard of buggy running is chilly digits. During the winter or even early morning springtime runs, your hand resting on the buggy handlebars is likely to feel the cold, so treat yourself to a cosy fleece muff. • Cup holder Thankfully, the Sport’s lightweight frame doesn’t affect sturdiness. It fared well during topple tests when a changing bag was hung on the handlebar, both with and without my daughter in the seat. And if your child likes to lean out of their buggy, you’ll have no concerns here either. Extras: Includes an adjustable handlebar for parents of all sizes, a large cargo basket with enough space for a shopping bag, and the twist handbrake provides speed control on downhills. It also has a handy foot brake to use when stationary. As is the case with all second hand Out ‘n’ About pushchairs, the Nipper Single is constructed from a lightweight but extremely robust aluminium chassis which folds down with ease for comfortable handling and transportation.Running form: It's important to maintain the right posture while you push. 'Try to stay upright, driving forwards with your glutes and not to lean on the handlebars with a big bend forwards,' says Wendy. Travel light: Try not to stuff too much into your storage basket and leave your changing bag at home if you possibly can.

I actually prefer this though as it means the underside of the buggy is kept clear while jogging and doesn’t get muddy when I take it off-roading. The storage pouch is big enough to store the Nipper Sport raincover plus a very small changing bag or changing station and a few groceries. The handlebar can be adjusted to four different positions to suit parents of varying heights. At 5'6", this suits me very well and my 6’4” husband finds this accommodates his height perfectly too. Out N About Nipper Sport V4: what’s it like to use day-to-day? Suitable from: Six months to 22kg (around four years) | Weight: 9.8kg | Folded dimensions: 61 x 61 x 104cm | Harness type: 5-point | Adjustable handlebar: Yes What we like
