About this deal

Rychlost Wi-Fi 1 900 Mb/s –sledujte své oblíbené seriály v rozlišení 4K s kombinovanou rychlostí až 1 900 Mb/s (600 Mb/s v pásmu 2,4 GHz a 1 300 Mb/s v pásmu 5 GHz ) s technologií 3×3 MU-MIMO. †‡ In contrast, the Orbi boasts AC3000 Wi-Fi speeds, the BT Whole Home has AC2500 and the Velop has AC2200. As such, for raw speed the Deco is someway behind its rivals, though by the very nature of distrubuted Wi-Fi systems, this isn’t always noticeable in conventional tests.

Inside, each unit comprises a quad-core processor and four internal antennas, for claimed throughput speeds of up to 400Mbps on the 2.4GHz band and 867Mbps on the 5GHz band. The only other feature is a single light on the top that glows in different colours and flashes in a variety of patterns to indicate the node’s status.Clients need to support 802.11k/v and may require additional setup. Performance may vary depending on the client device. Robustní rodičovská kontrola – omezte čas strávený na internetu a zablokujte nevhodné webové stránky na základě jedinečných profilů, které lze vytvořit pro každého člena rodiny. Setting up the Deco system is largely very simple. Like the Linksys Velop, it’s all done via an app on your phone, with both Android and iPhone supported. You plug in each node in turn and the app will automatically connect to them via Bluetooth, so it can configure it and connect it to the overall system. However, it falls into a slightly awkward middle-ground between the cheaper but faster and easier to setup BT Whole Home, and more expensive but even faster and more capable alternatives such as the Netgear Orbi and Linksys Velop. It’s not a bad option but as a latecomer to the mesh shin-dig, it hasn’t brought a good enough party favour to out-do the other guests.

The fact that this is AC1300 kit means that it simply can’t compete with the likes of the Orbi, but then they are more expensive. You really do get what you pay for in that respect. Its ability to send a strong signal through a wall 20 feet from the router was acceptable at 556.5Mbps available on the far side of the wall. That’s 40 percent off the pace set by the Orbi RBK852 (782.9Mbps). This trend held when we set the test system up a floor above the host router and the Deco X20 yielded 320.5Mbps of throughput versus the Orbi RBK852’s 670.1Mbps. But what is a mesh router and what can it do for you? For the full low-down head to our dedicated mesh router explainer, but the short version is that instead of a single, big router, you use a number of less powerful access points/nodes spread around your home to distribute the Wi-Fi workload.

No manual band assigning for devices (Some devices which should be using 5Ghz isn’t and goes to 2.4Ghz. Should have an option to assign per device band and this helps with Media device not falling into 2.4Ghz.)

It’s important to note that when shopping for gadgets and technology products, it can be tempting to go for the lowest price possible. However, be wary of retailers that offer prices that seem too good to be true. Some less reputable retailers may sell counterfeit or low-quality products, which can be dangerous and not perform as well as the genuine product. So having turned off WiFi for my main firewall router and having inserted a 3-node DECO X20 v4 AP mode system -- I am rebooting network infrastructure about every 4-5 days and sometimes in as little as 6 hours. Results were similar for the W7200 satellite node. Its score of 528Mbps on the close-proximity test was faster than the Eero Pro 6 (455Mbps) and the TP-Link Deco X20 (449Mbps) nodes, but couldn’t match the Asus ZenWiFi XT8 node (675Mbps). At 30 feet, the W7200 node scored 475Mbps, impressive compared with the Eero Pro 6 (353Mbps) and the TP-Link Deco X20 (301Mbps). Still, the Asus ZenWiFi XT8 took top honors again, with a score of 619Mbps.Individually these would be enough to pique our interest, but together they make for a great combo that is only slightly let down by the top-line throughput. Darker green areas on the map represent the strongest signal measurements, and lighter green and yellow areas show a weaker signal. The circles represent the location of the router and the satellite node. As shown on the map, the Deco W7200 system had no trouble delivering a relatively strong signal to all corners of our test home.
