About this deal

Baby’s breath rarely experiences problems with insect or disease pests. You can prevent mildew or mold issues by spacing baby’s breath so air circulates freely and using drip irrigation instead of overhead sprinklers. Gypsophila roots are incredibly fleshy, and very effective water storage units for the plant above. Though Baby’s Breath flowers are commonly called a ‘florist’s filler’, the tiny blossoms are indescribably pretty accompaniments to the carnations, gerberas, and such that form the centrepiece of a bouquet.

It is ideal for texture and filler in the garden just the same as in floral arrangements, and is also an excellent choice for filling in gaps. Heavily clay soils will need amending with sand or grit, or avoided altogether by planting in pots filled with garden compost. Spacing Gypsophila paniculata ‘Perfekta’: This variety can grow up to 3 feet tall and wide. Its flowers are very similar in appearance to the ‘Bristol Fairy’ cultivar, except that they’re around twice the size.Plant the cutting in a well-draining potting mix, such as a mix of perlite and peat moss, burying the lower third of the stem. If you prefer to start seeds indoors, begin 6-8 weeks before the last expected frost in your area, and transplant the seedlings outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Choose a gypsophila cultivar that works well in your garden. Base that choice on colour, size, and growing conditions, rather than just visuals. Sow directly into the soil via broadcasting, or sow evenly in rows 8-10 inches apart. Do not bury seed.

Plant after the last frost of the season for outdoor planting, or start 6-8 weeks indoors before the final frost before transferring outdoors. Where to Plant Baby's Breath Seeds Aster Yellows: Plants are stunted, develop witch’s brooms (excessive growth), petals turn green and become deformed.
