About this deal

Presumably by having 6inch wide holes that cannot be properly shut in so many rooms of our house, making it draughty, we run the risk of childhood TB and rheumatism and constant chest infections? When heating a property with either an open fire or a solid fuel appliance there are several things that one should know. Most vents become a source of cold air and draughts are created as the fire draws the air from the vent. The postage cost for the return will need to be covered by yourself (please keep the proof of postage until your return has been processed). The unique DR21 vent is the solution ? this new product allows only the air that is needed to enter your room. Even a high wind or forced air won?t be a problem as shown in the video. At ?29.99 our unique patented vent will pay for itself in no time, as you won?t need to try harder to heat a draughty room.

The kits contain items which you will need to install a DR21 air vent, but may not have readily available. They do not include the tools (e.g. drills and screwdrivers, mastic gun) you need to do the installation. They also don't include consumables such as screws or plasterboard fixings. Remove the standard louvered vent – you may need to unscrew some screws to do this, or break the sealant seal depending on how it has been fitted. DR21 Ltd is a family business, run out of my home-town of Knutsford, Cheshire. We’re a small company, but our product is made entirely in England and is manufactured ISO 9001:2015 standards. It was independently tested on the 24th October 2016 by BRE, one of the major facilities in the UK, and subsequently approved by HETAS. Now carefully glue the second magnet to the section of the cowl that you screw to the wall. Carefully aligning both magnets and ensuring you have the second magnet the right way round to attract the first magnet rather then repel. The Magnets should not touch or the attraction will be too strong for the flap to open when the extractor unit starts. Hi, we had an extension built earlier this year. Per building regulations, we had extractor fans installed in each new bathroom, cloakroom and utility. Each extractor has its own electrical isolator switch and, to be honest, we usually leave them permanently off.One of the best parts about this air vent cover is that if you do decide to light your stove, air is pulled through at a faster rate – in fact it’s pulled through at the exact rate to meet the demands of the appliance – meaning everything works just as it should. How does the DR21 vent cover work? It cannot be used on a kitchen extractor fan and the fat in the air will rapidly clog the interior. All I'm asking is whether there is a safe and simple method of stopping the cheap bits of plastic that pass for external covers on these things from rattling like a banshee whenever a squirrel farts in the woods to the side of my house.

iv. It would be harmful to burn the oxygen from a room without replacing it with fresh air from outside. Anyway, I would like to put a stop to this rattling and also stop the constant drafts coming from them. We are unlikely to use them, but I don't necessarily want to permanently disable them. Can anyone suggest some good ideas to help with this? Do you think I could tape up the vents upstairs by taking the inside cover (including fan) off, reaching through and applying tape from the inside?v. Combustion air can either be fed into the stove with a direct air kit through a ducting to outside or by taking air from the room. If the air is taken from the room then an air vent must be installed in the room in which the appliance is situated. According to research over recent years, childhood asthma is caused by too much ventilation, too little ventilation, too much cleaning/dusting and too little cleaning/dusting. I'd take all of it with a big pinch of salt. And I say this as someone who developed asthma as a child. These magnets are incredibly strong for their size. They are dangerous if ingested or inhaled so make sure they are out of reach of children and pets.

Smaller items will be delivered using Royal Mail 48. Larger items will be delivered by Fedex or ParcelForce. The solid tubing kit contains a DR21 air vent, an interior vent cover and a piece of solid tubing to go through the wall. Use this kit when you intend to use a 4" core drill to drill a straight hole through a wall. The DR21 acts as a like for like swap – you fit it onto the outside wall in place of the existing vent. There’s no fancy mechanism or any moving parts that could get damaged. Just an incredibly clever design that causes the air to move in a zig zag pattern, slowing the rate of air flow down when the demand for oxygen is low, instantly reducing those terribly cold air leaks.Vents are a common area of complaint when it comes to draughts and cold air leaks. But, air vents are there to ensure your appliances perform efficiently and correctly. Vents ensure fuel consuming appliances get enough oxygen and ensure toxic carbon monoxide is produced through incomplete combustion. So, air vents are pretty necessary when you’ve got fuel burning or a fire lit. But what about every other hour of the day? Howling gales don’t stop just because the fire’s off.
