About this deal

Let’s get one thing cleared up straight away. The round head is practically of no benefit to me. Well by that I mean the shape. I almost never fire flash directly at people. So having a nicer lighting pattern is a moot point. 99.9% of the time I will modify the flash. Either by using a softbox, Magmod or simply bouncing off a nearby wall/ceiling. Therefore the round head itself isn’t really giving me any advantages.

I wouldn't buy a product that won't work for me. I also avoid the most expensive products for obvious reasons. But in the middle I think both the chain of infrastructure to manufacture and support the product and the value are at a reasonable balance. Your mileage may vary. Ensure that your flash is the appropriate size and weight for your camera and other equipment. If a flash is too large or heavy, it can be bulky to carry and use. In contrast, if a flash is too small, it may not be able to provide you with the power and features you need. Recycle time and power output. The V1 was clearly inspired by the Profoto A1. Profoto did an amazing job in convincing photographers that the round head is better. So I guess Godox decided to join the party! You need a bluetooth enabled transmitter, that can be used with the Godox smart device app, there are two right now, the X2T and the R2 Pro II. Allthough I share the lot of your views on our world I can still see why people buy the cheap alternative but I don't want to go offtopic so I won't elaborate on this.

Reliable Performance: Thanks to its dimly lit environment, it ensures reliable and more efficient performance at lower light levels, making it possible to take better photos. It also has an impressive power output range of 22 steps that can be adjusted from full power down 1/1 to 1/128th for your free adjustment. Overall, this is the best Godox flash for Nikon Z5, Z6ii, Z30, Z50, D3500, D5600, D7500, and other camera users. The battery is rated for up to 480 pops at full power, with a recycle time of 1.5 seconds. Decreasing the output power speeds up these numbers considerably. From experience, firing the flash at ¼ power or lower, it can shoot several times per second. Lithium-Ion Batteries: praise the battery gods – I don’t have to charge any more AA batteries! This was the biggest game-changer for a workhorse like an on-camera flash because I can shoot multi-day events without having to worry about recharging and recycle times. If they'll ever have to file bankrupcy they clearly missed the boat and I'd be prolly be gone long before this might happen. All I can say is that when I see I have one bar left. I will recharge. I won't push it since sod's law means I will run out of power at THE pivotal moment. Magnetic rim

Godox V1 has full TTL automatics, the ability to work in manual mode, HSS and FEC mode, second curtain synchronization, etc. I hope you have enjoyed reading my Godox V1 review. If you are hoping to buy this flash then I hope my thoughts will help you make up your mind. MAGNETIC MOUNT: The front of the Godox V1 light has a magnetic system allowing you to attach a range of modifiers directly onto the product. This will fully support the Godox AK-R1 Kit allowing you to make instant changes easier than ever.Versatile Features: The Godox TT685II-N flash comes with versatile features such as stroboscopic flash settings, second curtain synchronization, rear curtain synchronization, and more. Additionally, it has a built-in 2.4GHz radio slave function which supports a wide selection of groups and channels, ensuring a reliable shooting process and easy setup in any environment. Its compatibility with Nikon TTL systems allows Nikon users to achieve seamless integration and control when used in conjunction with other Nikon products.

A comparison to Yongnuo or Godox can be made of course, they are cheaper but to my knowledge there are no repair facilities across the world.

The second benefit that is being talked about, the benefit relates to the way light falls off at the edges of the beam, that is correct. However, this only matters when you flash directly on your subject, without modifiers, a situation every photographer tries to avoid. In such a situation I use a Roque Flashbender myself to soften the direct light (at least close) a bit. That is immediately more beautiful (Flashbender on a rectangular head) than a round head without a modifier. So yes, the light falls off more nicely towards the edges of the beam, but that is an advantage that is of no use in practice. There are a few key features to consider when it comes to finding the best Godox flash for your Nikon camera. Here we find out the most crucial elements that you must see before making your buying decision. Size and weight It seems somewhat odd to mention the power switch as being an improvement. However, recessing it and using a switch with less play helps the unit feel more solid and gives a sense of confidence that it isn’t going to give way any time soon. Imo the high pricepoint is 'just' allbeit still really steep justified by its ability to (be) radiocontroll(ed). They should have come out with a wireless version of the SU-800 controller long ago. As it is, the SB5000 really isn't useful on older Nikon bodies.
