Beak-a-boo, it sees you. . . Cooper Klavan and his sister Anna are fishing with their parents at a woodland pond when they come across an injured bird. Anna, a huge animal lover, insists on taking it home to rehabilitate.

Beginning with the eponymous Goosebumps series in 1992, the Goosebumps franchise has spawned numerous follow-up and spin-off series. The franchise's other forms of media include a television series and feature films. There were also two hardcover reprint collections: Goosebumps Collection and Monster Edition. Nine books were released under the Goosebumps Collection title and were split into three groups: Living Dummy Collection, Campfire Collection, and Monster Blood Collection. Another 12 books were released under the Monster Edition title and were split into four groups, the first three of which were simply numbered while the fourth was called Fright Light Edition. 57 of the books were reprinted with original artwork, all except for #24, #47, #60, #61, and #62. All books, except #5, #7, #17, #18, #19, #29, #33, #38, #42, #43, #45, #47, #51, #52, #53, #56, #59, #61, and #62, were also adapted for television. The books see children placed in terrifying situations in which they have to overcome a frightening monster. Most of the original Goosebumps books can be read as standalones as they have self-contained plots. However, the exception to this is when a book has a direct sequel.Lastly, One Day at Horrorland introduces the concept of HorrorLand as a recurring setting in the Goosebumps universe. It’s so iconic that it even got its own spin-off series, “Goosebumps HorrorLand,” which dives deeper into the mysteries of the park. While on a road trip with their parents, Wendy and her brother Elliot get inside their parents' trailer and crash into a sports camp called King Jellyjam's Sports Camp. The 2 decide to stay and participate in the activities until their parents can come for them, but while Elliot is enjoying the competitive spirit, Wendy finds it all too bizarre especially when the winners end up missing, one of the counselors survives a bone-crushing hit to his chest, everyone is disappointed in Wendy who is not sharing their obsessive competitive spirit, and the ground begins to shake at night. This one has a special place in the Goosebumps lineup. While it may not be as iconic as Night of the Living Dummy or The Haunted Mask, which we’ll talk about further down this list, but it was still a top 20 Goosebumps book. The book introduced mythical creatures like mermaids into the Goosebumps universe, which wasn’t a common theme in the series. It was also adapted into a TV episode, although the episode took some liberties with the plot. Joe Burton's father Mr. Burton buys 2 garden gnomes named Hap and Chip, but Joe and his sister Mindy discover that the garden gnomes were alive and cause destruction at night. I Live in Your Basement! is the 61st installment in R.L. Stine’s iconic Goosebumps series. This one’s a real mind-bender, let me tell ya. The story revolves around a kid named Marco, who’s pretty much your average 12-year-old. He’s into baseball and hanging out with his friends. But things take a wild turn when he gets hit in the head with a baseball. Ouch!

Welcome to Dead House is the OG—the one that started it all. It introduced us to R.L. Stine’s unique blend of horror and humor that we’ve come to love. But what sets it apart is the atmosphere. The book is darker and more intense than most of the other entries in the series. It doesn’t shy away from the grim reality of its premise, making it a genuinely scary read, even for adults. The trio gets more than they bargained for as they delve deeper into the mansion. They encounter other spirits, face eerie phenomena, and even risk becoming permanent residents of the haunted house.Yes, you can certainly draw comparisons to The Mask (you know, the one where Jim Carrey finds an ancient mask and he puts it on and it changes his entire personality). However, it’s worth noting that The Haunted Mask came out a year before the Jim Carrey movie did.

The brothers soon realize they’re in a camp full of ghosts, and these spirits have a sinister plan: they want to switch places with the living to escape their ghostly existence.Despite his mother's admonitions, Matt spends the night in the empty guest room of his house and ends up waking up in a new world and on the run from a police force bent on stopping those who warp reality. The duo soon finds out that Stanley, the farmhand, has been reading a “super special” book that teaches him how to bring scarecrows to life. Yeah, you heard that right—living, walking, and super creepy scarecrows. Stanley’s got this weird power over everyone, including their grandparents, and it’s clear he’s up to no good. The scarecrows start coming to life at midnight, and they’re not exactly friendly. Jodie and Mark have to figure out how to stop these straw-filled monsters before they turn their summer vacation into a full-blown nightmare.
