About this deal

The G3 version had separate XLR and ¼-inch balanced inputs, whereas the G4 now has one combo input. The front-ported design of the KRK Systems Rokits is still intact, but the front firing port design has been made taller and wider. These are vital to any home studio monitor, as they help in reducing the vibrations coming from the monitors. If untreated, these can bleed through into the professional monitor stands or onto the desk. Experience first-class imaging and a sonically rich acoustic “sweet-spot” thanks to consistent air pressure behaviour. The KRK ROKIT G4 mechanics are tuned to ensure optimum performance for all studio situations. Monitor, adjust and perfect

Sitting next to the Rokit RP range are these KRK Classic 5 speakers. Though not part of the G4 range, they are a very popular alternative to Rokit 5 speakers. Superior low-end extension with optional setting of +2dB KRK Bass Boost acclaimed by music creators worldwideA boost option also features the combo EQ which includes a +1dB boost at the mentioned frequencies, as well as a High Shelf boost of +2dB in the 10 kHz region. KRK is one of the rare companies that have their monitors come with iso-acoustic pads for the bottom of the cabinets. The RP5 is the ideal choice for any music-related task. Whether you're producing, mixing or mastering KRK are an excellent choice. The Classic 5 professional studio monitors have been designed for one reason. To ensure you receive consistent and wholly accurate performance. KRK do not settle for anything less than the very best for their customers. This is reflected in their choice of parts. The RP5 features a revolutionary Class A/B amplifier which includes an in-built automatic limiter. This is ideal for reducing the risk of speaker damage and distortion. There is also a waveguide that aims to provide you with incredibly realistic imagery when in the listening position. I was debating between these and Presonus, bought these out of a very shallow reason... they looked cooler to me The Rokit series from KRK have been incredibly popular over the years for providing high quality sound at an affordable price point. With the Rokit now on its 4th generation KRK are carrying on this winning formula whilst continuing to improve on an already impressive monitor.

The Rokit RP5 G4 has become very popular with many artists. It comes with a punchy low end that also makes it a great choice for DJ studios, especially those who love a pronounced lower end. While the previous 3rd-generation ROKITs used a glass aramid woofer design, for the new RPG4 models, KRK is using woven Kevlar. Previously this material was reserved for the company’s midline and high-end models in the V and Expos é series. The 1″ tweeter, which was previously a 1″ soft dome design, is now made of matching yellow woven Kevlar as well. Looks, power, and specs The Rokit 5 RP5 G4 powered studio monitor designed speakers are the fourth generation of KRK’s affordable range, and the updated hardware changes look very promising at first glance. Their woofers can move faster and translate dynamics efficiently, as opposed to some entry-level speakers measuring 7-inches and wider. What’s more, the G4 speakers can be paired to the KRK DSP app, allowing adjustments to be made via smartphone or tablet. For customers in outlying areas of the country, the price of the Extended Warranty may be marginally higher, due to the potential for higher collection and redelivery transport costs. The general sound of these speakers is very crisp (except somewhere around 180-260 hz in the low freq area where I can feel a slight amplifiying in these speakers). This is a good thing because in that area there's usually a build-up in frequencies in songs, accumulated from all the present instruments / channels, that if not take care carefully, your song can sound bad on other reference or non-reference speakers. In this EQ section you press the Volume rotary to access different functions and can individually tailor each frequency band or choose from 25 settings. This is best used with the free KRK Audio Tools app which helps you identify anomalies in your room, which you then compensate for by adjusting the EQ on the speaker, and is a great, flexible and somewhat rare inclusion with a speaker of this price. What particular manufacturer is for you will come down to audio integrity and aesthetic taste differences. Without showing too much bias, know that it is worth doing your research on what is available, and ideally, listen to the options at a local store. As mentioned, I was sent the new ROKIT 5 G4 and I am fortunate enough to still have access to the ROKIT 5 G2 that I reviewed in April 2008, and the G3 reviewed in December 2013. I set all of the models up side-by-side in my studio to my Drawmer MC3.1 monitor controller, and used a level meter and test tones to match levels.
