This was such a fun read! I love the enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes so I had a blast following Violet and Matteo as they awkwardly navigated their way around each other, only to, of course since it’s a romance, eventually develop feelings other than hate for one another. I loved both characters and thought they had amazing chemistry. Pronounced with a long [aː], it means "Hello, I'm so glad to meet you!" (be it sincere or sarcastic) in Italian, and a sarcastic or humorous use of "bye!" (cf. American English) in Portuguese. It can be used in Italian to express sarcasm at another person's point of view about one topic, especially when that opinion sounds outdated, in which case the meaning is comparable to the English "Yeah, right!"WordSense is a free dictionary containing information about the meaning, the spelling and more.We answer the question: How do you spell ciao for now‎? No one in this conversation seems to know that there are lots of different ways to say goodbye in English. Kristy Woodson Harvey, New York Times Bestselling Author of The Summer of Songbirds on Ciao for Now But when a coffee run goes wrong and Violet accidentally destroys a stranger’s laptop, all of the apology Americanos in the world won’t help her. Because it turns out that the man from the café is Matteo, her professor’s eternally grumpy son, who thinks she’s a clumsy American…and maybe a stalker. Their animosity (and undeniable chemistry) grows as together they’re forced to face a summer of chic parties, adventures through Rome and sharing a home…with the person they can’t stand the most.

In Rome Violet meets Matt, a showrunner for a popular streaming space-romance. He is immediately smitten but does not show it. She is immediately annoyed. After a first rancorous meeting they find out Violet is spending the month at Matt's mother's villa, as is Matt. Matt is terrified by relationships but wants to try with Violet. Violet is afraid she will ruin her professional life by following a guy like she did before, but is drawn to Matt. And Matt is adorable. Anxious and self-protective by nature Matt tears down his walls for Violet, but her fears get in the way. The chemistry between Violet and Matteo sizzles from the start. I really enjoyed their meet-cute disaster and their grumpy/sunshine dynamic. Their initial hostility combined with the forced proximity gave this an enemies-to-lovers vibe that I couldn’t resist. HERE FOR THE DRAMA by Kate Bromley is equal parts heartfelt and hilarious. Taking us on a journey across the pond, Bromley has crafted a sharp, witty cast of characters you can't help but fall for. With a relatable heroine and a dreamy love interest, this romance is a true ode to finding your voice, following your dreams, and writing your own happy ending."—Amy Lea, author of Set On You I so wanted to love this one. The plot is reminiscent of a R.S. Grey novel (whom I love), so it could have been the perfect escape after a hard week. However, Violet’s personality bothered me and she sometimes seemed immature and definitely younger than 29.In some languages, such as Latvian, the vernacular version of ciao has become the most common form of informal salutation. One of my favorite parts about the story though was that Violet is somewhat older than her classmates and has returned to school to find her passion. Her journey to Rome is also a journey of self discovery. The greeting has several variations and minor uses. In Italian and Portuguese, for example, a doubled ciao ciao/ tchau tchau means specifically "goodbye", whilst the tripled or quadrupled word (but said with short breaks between each one) means "Bye, I'm in a hurry!"

I love being a witness not only to Violet's love story but also her journey to find out what she truly wants to do in her life! I have been meaning to read a novel by Kate Bromley for a while now, and I'm thrilled I started with Ciao For Now. There are quite a few different tropes woven into it, such as forced proximity and enemies to lovers, and it was a wonderful romcom that I would definitely watch if it were made into a movie. Much of the book is set in Rome which I loved, but I also really enjoyed that it ended in New York with Violet realizing precisely what she needs to do. The book is told entirely from her perspective, which I thought worked quite well for the storyline, and she grows quite a bit by the novel's end. I also loved the focus on fashion and despite this being a romance, it is also about Violet's journey and how she pursues her passion for design. Because people who like each other sometimes like showing that they like each other by saying bad things to each other.

If you say this to someone you’re never going to see again, like an air stewardess or a taxi driver, then that might be a bit confusing. Since I didn’t want this to end… I would HIGHLY recommend this fantastic book, if you’re looking for a new, fun, modern, romcom, or like me you’re in a constant state of wanderlust. I’d suggest throwing on your favorite Italian music, and pouring yourself a glass of Prosecco, maybe a delicious charcuterie board, because you deserve it. 😉 It almost felt like I was enjoying the hot, sunny streets, of Rome, while reading this. The dialogue is witty and engaging - it’s the kind of conversation that makes you forget you’re reading a book and not standing right there listening to the conversation! When Violet lands a fashion internship in Rome, she must step up to complete against her two (younger) classmates to win the ultimate prize of a job at a New York label. There’s only one problem: her professor’s son, Matt, is her ultimate enemy from the start! Can Violet push forward towards her fashion goals, or will she remain distracted by Matt? Ciao for Now is the perfect enemies to lovers romance book!

There’s drama both on and off the stage in this cute rom-com from Bromley... Plays, plotting, and puppy love amount to a sweet production especially suited for theatre lovers.”— Publishers Weekly Spanish: in Argentina and Uruguay the word chau is the most common expression for "goodbye". In Chile, chao is the standard farewell. In Spain, where "adios" (with a religious etymology as "goodbye", the same as Italian "addio" and French "adieu", meaning "to God" in English) is the common expression, people can use chao as an original way of saying goodbye. In Here for the Drama, Bromley's signature humor and witty banter stand out in this theater-themed, drama-filled, romantic coming of age story. Hands down a standing ovation from me!" -Suzanne Park, author of Loathe at First Sight and So We Meet AgainWhen you’re with your friends, you might want to use some of these more fun ways of saying goodbye. If you say it to your favourite actor when you meet him at a book signing, then that would even be creepy.
