This special is about twenty-five minutes long, but a 5-minute version exists with completely new footage; considering a number of differences with the final special, this was most likely a pitch pilot produced to get the feature greenlit. Behind the scenes footage for this episode was filmed for the 1998 short documentary called "The Making of Pingu".
