Bradshaw, Peter. "Safe Haven – review", " The Guardian", 28 February 2013, Retrieved on 29 November 2014. Hi Rosie, I would really suggest you continue the book because it’s worth it. Honestly, I don’t really want to spoil the story but since you are so eager to know- I would answer it. yes her husband does visit. But it gets more thrilling and as readers, we really get to celebrate the story. Happy reading! When a mysterious young woman (Julianne Hough) arrives in a small North Carolina town, her reluctance to join the tight-knit community raises questions about her part. Slowly, she begins putting down roots, and gains the courage to start a relationship with Alex (Josh Duhanel), a widowed store owner with two young children. But dark secrets intrude on her new life with such terror that she is forced to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice and rely on the power of love in this deeply moving romantic thriller. When I read a romance, I am looking for a love story that grip you and doesn’t let go, for emotional turmoil, I want to feel, to be moved, have your heart beat so fast you have to stop reading to take a deep breath. This novel was too plane.

Katie is working hard as a waitress at Ivan’s cafe, in coastal Southport, NC, and living in a run-down, low-rent house. She seems very remote and detached from the other residents, though Alex Wheatley and his two young children, Josh and Kristen take a keen interest. As their friendship grows, Alex and the kids arrange to present the penniless Katie with a bicycle, so she can ride places. She discloses to her neighbour Jo that she has been the victim of domestic violence, and is in fear of being discovered. SAFE HAVEN (12A)". British Board of Film Classification. January 21, 2013 . Retrieved January 21, 2013. Wow. So, I guess I have some issues. Anyway, I vow that this really really was my last Sparks novel. This time I mean it!Safe haven is a great story with a thrilling plot. It is both a romantic story and a thriller. If you are not a Sparks’ fan You will become one after reading this. The Safe Haven series started with Rise Of the RAMS. The planet Earth is ravaged by a monstrous virus. Those who succumb to the infection return as barbaric monsters who’s aim is to savage the those who have not been infected. The RAMS (reanimated corpses) are winning. I am still one of those people that enjoys Nicholas Sparks books and movies. I really prefer to read the book before I watch the movie, so I've owned the movie since it came out but never watched it. This was the first TBR takedown book and I am happy to say this seems to be working well, and now I don't have to unhaul this book.

Katie is a strong woman. She lived with a psycho for so long. Hercourage to stay with her physically and mentally abusive husband is admirable. She tried her best to love and look after him by cooking delicious food and housekeeping. I am sure there are so many Katies that exist among us. Katie is interested in Alex, who is a widower with two children. Alex and Katie's relationship becomes romantic, encouraged by Jo. Alex's former job had trained him to recognize signs of an abuse victim. Katie reveals her past to Alex, who wants to know why she did not go seek help from the police. She explains that Kevin is a police detective. She fled from his abuse because she knew he would kill her if he located her. Her created identity is based on a neighbor's dead daughter who resembled her. Domestic violence is a large theme in this novel. The main character Katie represents the individuals out there involved in dreadful and horrific relationships. And lastly Joe. How much this story revolved around her just blew, BLEW my mind away. How much I respected her as Katie quietly read her letter... I don't believe I've felt that for a character before. Joe, Christy, Alex's first wife or whoever you want to call is someone I want to grow up and become like. I want to be selfless and love my husband and children that much that I would do anything and everything for their happiness. This story is perfect. So many messages were brought across from it. So many important morals. As Jo herself states, she is already gone but hopes to be with her family, watching over them as they make a fresh start. Her love for her family manifests in the form of a mystical entity/ghost that Katie can see. She guides Katie through her times of need, and eventually, both women help each earn what they both want – a second chance.Complete list of Teen Choice 2013 Awards winners". Los Angeles Times. They were prepared ahead of time for important events such as Josh's eighteenth birthday and Lexie's wedding day. He also reconciles with Josh. Alex knows family is everything. He also knows survival is everything. Leeds needs a hero. Heroes are made in the midst of trial. In the midst of war. In the midst of the effort to survive. Leeds needs Alex now. Today.
