It is barely even a hint of its former self. If I had smelled this blindly, I would not think "Oh, that must be Cool Water" nor would I think "That smells good". I would think "Who is wearing that extremely faint insect repellent or boring cleaning product?" The first impression i got was that it's extremely salty smelling, like youre at the shore howering over the beautiful sea. The smell is the perfect man's fragrance, this is what a man should smell like....i just cannot believe there are people who dislike this or say it smells dated... Right now it's February in Wisconsin, and one of the coldest Februaries I remember. I have always liked Cool Water but never had the courage to buy it -- at the time when it first came out, I was all about subtlety with fragrances and felt that this would be too strong. I was also between this and Vivid, and thought Vivid was a little more sophisticated, which is possibly true. Our battlegrounds, I like to believe smelled as the Creed lab that created Green Irish Tweed would have before its perfection. Yes, it is true that our noses and olfactory senses change as we grow and become accustomed to newer scents in life. However, the extreme manner in which Cool Water has been destroyed is not simply due to maturing olfactory senses. What Davidoff has done to Cool Water is a tragedy and it is very real.

I read a review a couple scrolls down saying this smells like grease/deep fryer once it settles in your skin. Bought the perfume and didn’t think it would apply to my skin chemistry. One of the most disappointing and tragic moments in a man's life is when his someone special says, "Aaah, Cool Water. Mmmmmm...", as you hold her close, when what you're actually wearing is Green Irish Tweed😩That's exactly how it smells like! First spray and instantly lemons hit you with their juicy freshness which settles slowly in a hour with a very cool ozonic vibe which later settles into some smooth creaminess which is prolly from the sandalwood, vanilla and musk notes Like the masculine version, this is a 'shower gel' fragrance, a fresh, solid blue, linear blob except even more so. I don't get any assertion from this at all, so maybe that is "feminine" if you have a rather delicate view of womanhood. I own GIT but only wear it on special(ish) occasions. I bought Cool Water for every day in the house. Still love the smell the only problem is I can barely smell it as soon as it’s on me. It’s like eating something, tastes very good untill you’ve eat it a few seconds later. there was a time when i was a kid (when this fragrance was popular) i loved this smell. now its only a shell of itself. it doesn't last long, it smells extra synthetic, and it almost burned my nose off when i sprayed it. This might be one of the few 80's fragrances I can tolerate and actually--like. It has a sharp opening dominated by green notes with herbal hints of mint and rosemary, closer to the smell of Irish Spring rather than Green Irish Tweed. I have a hard time believing anything would think this is anything more than what it is, a cheap fragrance. It's not bad, but it won't blow anyone away with quality, longevity, sillage, etc. It's definitely one of the most easy to wear 80s fragrances, and that alone says a lot.

In the Indian climatic conditions(hot and humid) this scent begins with being strong for the first 10min or so, then this becomes a skin scent for 1hr and barely projects, and then vanishes completely after 1.5hr.

Lotus, melon, water lily and pineapple- these are the notes I smell. This is fresh, light and very hot weather appropriate. I have been wearing Cool Water these days, this is not particularly fabulous, but I think that Calone and high amounts of Evernyl (Oakmoss) work really nicely. This is pleasant to my nose. This is primarily aroma-chemicals based and I think this actually always was, starting from 80xx. Some citrus compounds are noticeable in this as well, I believe lots of Hydroxycitronellal, Linalool and Ethyl Linalool are very much appealing in this together with some green raw materials like Cis-3-Hexenol maybe in small amounts. In the heart, sandalwood, neroli, geranium, and jasmine weave a tapestry of elegance, while the base sings of musk, oakmoss, tobacco, cedar, and ambergris, a symphony of the elements. Cool Water transforms the air, a testament to its lineage—a game changer that introduced aquatic scents for men. It stands among the best, a fragrance that speaks of nostalgia and seduction, reminiscent of Green Irish Tweed by Creed with a hint of Armani's Acqua di Gio. CW is marketed for the beach, GIT is marketed as a walk in a green countryside however smell very similar. This happened to me many years ago, and I still get flashes of that moment today. Oh the trauma! That someone special has been history for almost as many years, but that moment got me thinking long and deep about spending my money on expensive fragrances that have proficient doppelgangers. Well of course I never learnt my lesson, but I have been more careful and considered before handing over hard-earned dosh.
