Follow the flawed, the real, the messy. Follow the women who say it like it is, no filter, no glossing, no bull. Follow those people who accept themselves, and you, as you are. And leave the rest to edit their lives to perfection,” This poignant collection of beautiful words is about all kinds of love, parental, sibling, as a child, as a partner, as a friend. Its about boundaries, its about acceptance, its about absence of love. It touched me in the way only poetry can. Wild Hope is Donna Ashworth's powerful new collection of wisdom to help us find hope, peace, self-acceptance and inspiration on the days we feel worn down, helpless or sad. Written with love and understanding, Donna reminds us that amidst our daily struggles and constant outpourings of bad news we have so much to hope for, and that every one of us can play a part, big or small, in making the world a better place.

When you have lost someone you love Do not make the mistake of living in sadness, or living small to honour their absence. When you have lost someone you love… Do not make the mistake of living in sadness, or living small to honour their absence. You owe it to them to live even more vividly than before. If they could reach you, they would surely say.. “Take the love you had for me and turn it intoThere will never be a day you don’t miss her. Never a day, where you don’t wish you could hear her voice or ask for her advice just one more time. There will never be a moment that you don’t regret all the times you screened her call, or missed a visit, simply because life Whether you have a mother or not, the need will always be there. Even if you never had one, even if you don’t have any experience of that maternal love, there is a hole inside of you that perhaps, you didn’t even know you had. A woman needs her mum, this much is true. So This poem by Rabindranath Tagore is a reflection on the narrator’s contentment with his life and gratitude to his or her friends for their companionship and support. The poem ends with a hope that they will live on after death in the memory of these friends. If you are organising a funeral service some of these are ideal to be read at those. As I said earlier in my review my mum recently died and we chose a poem my daughter remembered from school called Funeral Blues by W.H. Auden. There were many in this book that I could and would have had. Life - this uplifting beautiful collection tells you to live, to age gracefully, to embrace the changes and to LIVE. I think the most beautiful part of this poetry set was the ones that dealt with ageing where the poet says again and again I want to age, I need to age and I deserve to age, because I have earned. I was so touched by this part as ageing being one of the biggest taboos of life, especially for women. We are taught how to hide the signs of ageing, to try and look young as much as we can. This perspective has helped me look at how I view ageing and how I have begun to accept each passing day as a blessing and not a curse

By 50, it’s full on UP.By 60, both of those fingers are hoisted in a V…and not a single care is given any more.I mean, we care about our family, our friends and our passions. We care about the environment. We care about equality and living in peace. But we don’t care about ‘fitting in’ and we don’t I recommend this collection to anyone who would like to read something that inspires a few minutes of quiet contemplation. One Day… An army of furious older women will take over the world. And I want to be there at the front. Because one day, every woman wakes up and realises, that quite frankly, they put themselves through hell. Trying to fit in, trying to be enough, to be attractive, to be acceptable, to beThis book covers love of all types. Some of the poems are light and joyful, others reminiscent, those of loss are heartbreaking. There comes a day, somewhere in the middle of every woman’s life, when Mother Nature herself stands behind us and wraps her arms around our shoulders, whispering “It’s time.” “You have taken enough now. It’s time to stop growing up, stop growing older and start growing wiser – and wilder. There are adventures still waiting

Love: Poems to bolster every heart that ever beat by Donna

A short but uplifting funeral poem by famous Victorian poet Christina Rossetti, about saying goodbye to a loved one. THE LOSS OF A MOTHER is a really good one and I took a deep breath expecting to really tear up as my own mum died quite recently but it was THE LOSS OF A FATHER that made me the most emotional, the one that had me nodding in agreement with its words and sentiment, especially with the part where your father has already planted the answers you seek etc Number of living languages: 6912 Number of those languages that are nearly extinct: 516 Language with the… Janet Carr In this volume, the subject is love in its many manifestations. There is, of course, romantic love but also love of family, friends, pets, life and more. For example, I found the poem The Love of a Dog to be quite profound in its own simple way or try Friendships; that one rang so true to me. My favourite book from the collection is Love. Love in all forms. Friendship, family, children, self-love. Perhaps because I’m a mom and also a daughter, some poems really spoke to me more than others and made me very emotional in ways no poems ever did. And I know in the future, if I ever find myself going through tough times, I know I can re-read Life. And if I ever lose someone I love, I know I can count on Loss to help me. There will always be right words at the right times among these collections. And what a comfort it gives me. Highly recommendable to everyone, even those who hate poems.A short religious funeral poem, ideal for a eulogy or memorial poem. A poem about loved ones finding peace with God in Heaven. Ashworth’s poems are all very accessible to people who usually don’t read poems. Lovely and emotional are the words I would use to describe her poems. Her poems inspires us to love, forgive others and ourselves. She reminds us that we are strong and can learn and make positive changes. When I see the perfect people, perfect is no longer what I see…I see pressure,I see stress,I see strict regimes and unforgiving schedules.I see fear of failure.I see hunger.I see missed fun, empty plates and lives too full with punishing conformity. Most of all I see a very sad inner child who never imagined a life of
