About this deal

Emil and the Detectives by Erich Kastner is a total classic and thrilling read, or what about the irreverant Tapper Twins books by Geoff Rodkey. Gene Kemp's The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tileris also excellent (look out for the twist!) Number One for Fiendish Fun!This book contains a SCARY movie, a wet weekend, a grumpy card game and the Olympics!Four utterly hilarious and totally... Horrid Henry notably enjoys watching television, and his favourite shows include Mutant Max, Rapper Zapper and Terminator Gladiator. Henry and Peter often argue over who watches the television because Peter prefers to watch programs that Henry finds too babyish and boring. Stories about naughty characters have been told for centuries, and Horrid Henry is a modern-day rogue in the tradition of Dennis the Menace and Just William.

Most importantly, though, the books are very funny - and rude, too. Kids just get it. So what to read after you've gone through the 24 books in the series? For young readers who whizzed through Horrid Henry and want more funny and rude stories I really liked the book, and I would recommend it to all my friends because they are all bad and they need to learn respect. Ramona Quimby, by Beverly Cleary (about a girl who gets into troubles because of various reasons- also like Horrid Henry in many ways) Ramona is quite popular with girls in the States (where I'm from); she may be little advanced for the 5 year old, but they're used as early readers/sight readers for kids so they could be a good book to grow into.Once again, you came up with some fantastic ideas on social media about What to Read After Horrid Henry. Here are some of the recommendations we received... The first Horrid Henry book was written and published in 1994 by Orion Books. Up until 2015, 24 official Horrid Henry titles were published in the series with a special one-off 25th Anniversary book, published in 2019. The series has sold more than 21 million copies worldwide. [3] my 5 year old loves them, she's a pretty confident reader and can manage them by herself (which is fortunate since i can't abide them). can also get them with cds which is great for the inbetweeny reading stage. Our team is made up of book lovers who are dedicated to sourcing and providing the best books for kids. We work closely with publishers and authors to ensure that we offer the best books on the market for your child.

In the television series, Henry is noticeably more tame and human, particularly after series 2, whereas in the books, he is much more horrid and appears to have almost no redeeming qualities, often displaying some sociopathic traits. Henry appears to have messy reddish-brown hair, pale skin, and rosy cheeks. He is of average height for his age. He usually appears to be wearing a horizontally yellow striped light blue T-shirt, blue sewn jeans, and the usual green and white shell-toe trainers with yellow laces. His pyjamas are blue, with vertical white stripes. The slippers he wears in his pyjamas have inside looks like a crocodile's face and lime green colour. Horrid Henry is not a model child. He is jealous of his younger brother, Perfect Peter, who symbolises everything that Henry is not.Of course, older Horrid Henry fans must not miss Francesca Simon's books for older readers. She's written three in her Mortal Gods series: The Sleeping Armyand The Lost Gods, a brilliant collision of Norse myth and contemporary celebrity culture for 8-12s.Plus, set in the same world but aimed at slightly older readers is The Monstrous Child. For those that want recommendations from Francesca Simon herself Horrid Henry is a children's book series by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross. It has been adapted for television, film [1] and theatre. [2] Horrid Henry is set in the United Kingdom in 1994. Readitdaddy had a great suggestion: Dork Diaries.'C would definitely recommend Dork Diaries for kids who do love a great series that evolves over time but can also be read completely out of sequence,' he said. I know how hooked kids get on the Horrid Henry books and I love their enthusiasm!' she says. 'But even Horrid Henry fans need to OCCASIONALLY read something else, and I know they would also adore Steven Butler's The Nothing To See Here Hotel, about a secret holiday resort for magical creatures. 'Henry fans will love the riotous humour, fantastic characters, and spiralling madness as the hotel copes with the arrival of the guest from hell, a goblin prince with a dark secret. Number One for Fiendish Fun! Get ready for a bumper edition of mayhem with this totally awesome collection of six favourite Horrid Henry stories! H...

This article or information is about the character. You might be looking for the book, Horrid Henry. Meanwhile, @richardbrenton came with not one, but tworecommendations for us! He suggested David O'Doherty's Danger Is Everywhereis a 'good progression' from Horrid Henry and called John Dougherty's Stinkbomb and Ketchup Faceseries a 'delight'. I think this book is very funny and I love that Horrid Henry plays pranks on his brother and calls him 'worm'. There seems to be a popular fan theory that Henry has ADHD, dyslexia or is on the autism spectrum, although this is completely unconfirmed. It's not a huge surprise - there's so much to make Horrid Henryappealing, and these are often the first books children actually enjoy reading to themselves. What makes them so great? Try another 'bad boy' - Just William by Richmal Crompton. After all, if that goes down well, there are 39 books in the series!

Throughout the series, Henry appears to be a 'horrid' boy, indicated by the people around him, including his parents and teacher. He appears to be around 10 years old until " Horrid Henry's Birthday" when he turns 11. Henry appears to turn 12 in " Horrid Henry's Birthday Bonanza" onward.

This article contains information on characters, places, items or events which take place in the Horrid Henry animated television series. His transformations are coincidentally similar to Katie Ka-Boom's transformations, since both of them are transformations of hideous monsters/animals that represent their anger. Horrid Henry is the titular character and the overall main protagonist of the TV series. He was created by Francesca Simon in the mid 1990s, and he was brought to the television by the episode maker Dave Unwin in 2006. He is a mischievous prankster-type kid, who is exhilarant and arrogant. He is much hated by some of the staff at Ashton Primary School (his school), like Miss Battle-Axe and Mr Soggington but is a very popular kid with the students, having lots of friends, most likely due to his prankster-type personality. Since Series 3, Henry has become a more down-to-earth kid, who is seemingly obsessed with morality.
