Weighing at just under 5 pounds, the construction consists of steel and aluminum, which makes for a rugged piece of plastic. Compared to the other two pedals on the list, the TFRP Rudder Pedals are angled towards you, which allows for comfortable, albeit less realistic flying. The heel rest can also be removed, allowing you to control the rudder with different parts of your foot. Again, it's not the most realistic flying position, but it's perfect for staying comfortable during long flights. Among other features, Logitech’s rudders offer differential brakingand a self-centering mechanism.While the former allows greater control over the plane, the latter centers the pedals when no force is being applied. Although I find both these features very desirable, it is pertinent to mention that the self-centering mechanism ensures you are always pushing against some tension. It’s not necessarily a bad thing but it tends to divide opinions.

I have also written to Logitech support, who at least answer my questions and try to find a solution. These pedals are designed for the armchair pilot who needs every degree of freedom from their equipment. I usually wear heavy work boots and C & H is perfect underfoot whereas the Thrustmaster, well, I can’t really feel them underfoot in heavy boots. However take offs are a nightmare. Between half V1 and Vr any small input from the rudder pedals will drive the aircraft crazy and I often have to keep the pedals at crazy angles to keep the aircraft on a relatively straight line. Same issues as well. Flying B350 using my brand new Logitech/Saitek rudder pedals. Have played with sensitivity settings a bit, trying to make them more tolerant. Taxiing works relatively fine, although after some point the pedals seem to have an exponential effect. I believe I can further fine tune this in settings.

Now for the complaints. We sometimes feel like the pedals are too close together. Depending on the game, this can put a dent in prolonged usage. However, this factor is largely subjective and depends on individual comfort preferences. The pedals are compatible with both PC and Mac, and the plug-and-play driverless USB installation is a breeze. Any kind of simulation comes down to one thing—realism. While most of the aforementioned rudder pedals may not be the most realistic as compared to an actual aircraft, some enthusiasts trade accuracy for versatility. How do they connect to the simulator? For example... there are settings for “throttle 90%”... “full throttle 1”... etc. just a thought. The most noticeable aspect of Logitech’s G Pro Flight rudder pedals is the adjustable spring tension. You can fly against as little or as much resistance as you want. As essential as the feature sounds on paper, it is quite rare, with even a few top-of-the-line products not supporting it. Neither Thrustmaster TFRP nor CH Products Pro Pedals offer any mechanism for adjusting tension. So in that regard, Logitech’s offering definitely stands out. It is worth mentioning, however, that adjusting tension doesn’t seem to have much of an impact. Sure, it smoothens out minor rudder adjustments but that’s just about it. That being said, I would have Logitech’s adjustable tension over Thrustmaster’s fixed tension any day of the week! The list of flight simulator rudder pedals is awfully short but is expected to grow over the next few years. Even with limited choices, there is surely a set of pedals that will fit whatever simulation needs you may have.I found a workaround for the Thrustmaster, first take off my boots, then spray the steel rods with silicone spray. Make them slippery. Now they work fine. But how often do I want to take off, put on, my boots?

Just my 'dumb guy' suggestion. Go to that controls section and un-assign Throttle Axis L. The Re-assign that same quadrant lever to it. If there are any conflicts the screen will display them. Save changes and see if that helps? Visually, the Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder is very different from the other pedals. It departs significantly from the traditional flat layout most pedals exhibit and instead chooses to prominently display the "PENDUL_R" mechanism — and no, that's not a typo. PENDUL_R refers to the rudder pedal arms that hang from the top of the device. If your goal is to make your flight simulator as realistic as possible, rudder pedals are a must-have. Sure, they come with Velcro strips but those are ineffective on the carpet and who uses them on bare floors? One solution to the problem is to put weight behind the pedals, somewhere in the range of 20 – 30 lbs. That’s exactly what we did, and it worked well. A more permanent and better solution would be to bolt the pedals to the desk.
