Vashtorr draws hordes of mortal worshippers with him to breach the fortress and its wards, alongside writhing Daemon Engines empowered by the Soul Forge that serves as the seat of his power. In the box you’ll get Vashtorr, 10 Cultists, two Obliterators, and a Venomcrawler. However, I find myself overawed by the details on these models. There are so many Dark Angels-specific motifs across all the miniatures, and the variation in heraldry across all the figures means no single one is similar to another. These guys have bags of character, and I think they’re brilliant. They also come with heaps of leftover parts – including banners, heads, and trinkets – which could easily find their way onto other models. I personally quite like those Deathwing scultps, it's a fairly popular kit, so I think adding them is fairly sensible. You may have noticed that GW did give you both a helmeted head and a bare one, along with accounting for either option with the watcher in the dark, the little guy gets either a helmet or a big ass sheath to haul around. This does lead to a scenario I find quite amusing as there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from giving both of them helmets, just in case you want Azrael to have a spare noggin protector. Towards the end of the Horus Heresy, Legions on both sides – but Traitors with by far the most enthusiasm – began to field Esoterists in their armies, Librarians who had dabbled in forbidden lore. I love the Obliterators in particular and really can’t wait to paint these up and add them to the small collection of Chaos figures I already have. Again though, you will get access to these two new models before they are released separately. So, if you really want them, this will be your only option for a month or so.
