About this deal

There is no way to give a short answer to anything about the history of the 8x57 flavors, nor the 8x60. I will give some short answers and can expound on points later. Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama, says: “It’s been a joy to see Waterloo Road return to the BBC this year, delighting new and returning fans with its fantastic ensemble of relatable characters and a winning mix of heart, humour and high drama. It’s been especially exciting to see the new boxsets prove so popular on iPlayer, and to see the next brilliant generation of acting and production talent break into the industry via their work on the series. Life’s never dull for the staff and pupils at Waterloo Road, and there’s a lot more drama to come!”

ones, but do not have a maker's mark, a letter code or the word 'Dienstglas'. They are just marked 6x30. My thoughts are that these were made after the War for the surplus At the top of the price bands expect optically perfect lenses and very good cosmetic condition. It is possible to These are the most practical size for modern applications such as bird watching or spectator sport. They give you powerful magnification and bright lenses. The second reason is a continued fascination for items from the Second World War and from the Third Reich in particular. Models Handloaders can also produce this round, by altering a .30-06 Springfield case and using a standard 8 mm bullet. Prvi Partizan is a major supplier of brass components for European 8x60mm S Handloaders. Original cases are rare and can be worth as much as the binoculars. Early cases were leather. Later ones were made from bakelite. Condition

Binoculars that have been serviced recently will be worth significantly more. Buy Dienstglas binoculars It is well worth getting any vintage binoculars professionally cleaned and serviced. You will notice the difference in performance. ReferencesYou say that you would be very much interested. How interested, in money terms? Of course, these would not have war eagles or swastikas,so would be of lesser appeal for the militaria collectors or the speculator/investor in rarities per se, but would be multicoated on all surfaces, which the WW II production was not. are very usable as binoculars, once you adjust to the eye piece focusing which is used on most military binoculars. I sold it at Holt's auctioneers with the cases and dies in the same auction as by that time the new .270 Winchester RWS Evolution load was introduced and if I ever want to shoot wild boar as the optics on this rifle whilst very good were fixed x4 power and I have a Zeiss 1.5-4.5 or a Zeiss 3-9 option on the .270 Winchester and the better suited lower end power of those optics is for me more important. Firstly, the fully coated or fully multicoated description was actually in the flesh a single coat on the front and a single coat on the rear eyepiece surface. . All other surfaces were completely uncoated.

Mechanically it was completely wobbly, nothing fitted properly, the hinge could tilt about 20° up or down. Does anyone have a set of Bresser binoculars? I personally hadn't heard of them. Also I didn't know you could get 60mm binoculars. I always thought the jump was from 50mm to 70mm! The in-focus exit pupil is 6mm. The diamond pattern is very noticeable with the screen defocussed inside the focal length.

I am told by an expert on the Mausers and German snipers that there were a significant number of 8x60 sporting rifles with telescopic sights around. They could shoot the 8x57mm ammunition. The faintest stars visible were 0.1 magnitude fainter than with a standard 12 x 50 medium quality binocular. I found a box of Prvi brass, and have been loading that. So far, my best loads have been with IMR 4064 under 195 / 196 / 200 grain bullets. I am starting to get the 170-gr Hornady to shoot well by stepping up the velocity. Many 8mm bullets are just hard to find right now.
