About this deal

The Maclaren Techno XT is an umbrella stroller designed for infants and toddlers. With a recommended age minimum of 0 months, it provides a convenient and comfortable way to transport your child. It features a single seat, making it suitable for one child at a time.

Maclaren actually overhauled their whole line of lightweight strollers two years ago to go over to a single wheel system with improved brakes and suspension. They are still umbrella strollers, though, that part hasn’t changed. And I don’t like umbrella strollers. Why? Because it’s not only an old design, it’s an outdated design. Its purpose was to create a lightweight, easy fold stroller. And there are simply many other vastly superior ways of accomplishing these goals at this point. The design itself at this point is simply wrong. The chief reason for this is actually really just one idea. The horizontal collapse of the stroller. The idea that when you fold it is not just going to get shorter top to bottom but skinnier. You see on every stroller that I’ve seen implementing this sort of concept, and that includes the Bugaboo Donkey as much as I love it for other reasons. I've got both and I have to disagree with the replies above! In my opinion, unless you need the buggy to be suitable from birth then it's not worth paying the extra for the Techno. Constructed with an aluminum frame, this stroller is lightweight yet durable. It weighs approximately 7200 grams, ensuring ease of use and portability. Additionally, the frame material guarantees long-term reliability.

The fold is not all that smooth anymore either. You don’t get that sort of side to side asymmetrical wear on most modern strollers anymore. A baby’s and will certainly get looser over time. But this looseness isn’t going to make it harder to fold. And that’s an addition to the fact that it’s not going to feel loose horizontally. And even when a Maclaren does fold easily, it’s simply not the most comfortable method of folding, nor the easiest stroller to carry when it’s folded. I’d much rather fold and carry a baby then we’re on the larger end of Baby Jogger City Mini than a Maclaren, especially when what I have to then carry around is as large as a golf bag, and might very well pinch my fingers. The seat unit is easily adjustable with one hand and can be fully reclined. An extendable calf rest supports growing legs and a five-point harness keeps your baby safe and secure. The Techno XT is a highly impressive pushchair.

Your child’s safety on baby strollers is supreme. No one should cut corners and comprise it. As a parent, you always worry about it every second. You do not have to worry as much with Maclaren’s Newborn Safety System. This safety system adds covering for your infant when the seat is fully reclined. Both models have a lightweight yet rigid frame. Maclaren also added more streamlined wheels that have full-suspension on each wheel. There are single front wheels that are said to be more agile which adds to its maneuverability. These single front wheels reduce friction between the wheels and the ground for a smooth and quiet ride. Lastly, the seat cover is easily removable and washable. The Quest is fine for a toddler (we used it from 3 months and it was fine at that age too). It reclines well, has a leg rest that you can extend and is well-made. The only thing the Techno has better than the Quest is the extending hood, which is handy to shelter your child from wind or sun. The rear wheels feature linked brakes that are easily operated by foot. Comfort is always front of mind with second hand Maclaren pushchairs. The ergonomic handles of the Techno XT are proof of this. The stroller has a lot of reflective elements. Advantages are the height adjustable handles and one hand (or rather foot) folding. The dimensions when folded and the weight are not quite ideal for a travel stroller and you need to measure first if it will fit in the car at all. One of the key features of this stroller is its foldability, allowing for easy storage and transportation. The fold style is umbrella, making it compact and effortless to collapse when not in use. The Maclaren Techno XT has four front wheels and four rear wheels, providing stability and maneuverability. The wheels have fixed and swivel mobility options, enabling smooth navigation in various environments.Despite its long history in the umbrella stroller world, the Maclaren Techno XT has not kept up with modern-day improvements. We find this stroller heavy, bulky, and difficult to maneuver compared to the competition. The canopy is the high point of this stroller, but we think that you can find that, as well as better overall performance, in some of our higher-scoring options. What Other Umbrella Strollers Should You Consider? The Maclaren Techno XT is designed for ultimate convenience with durable construction and ease of use. The stroller has four wheels that can either be fixed or swivel for smooth mobility. It can hold up to 15 kg of baby weight and comes with a hood cover to protect from the sun. The design is foldable and uses an umbrella fold style, so it's easy to store and transport. The product is made with an aluminum frame, ensuring strength and stability. The stroller weighs approximately 7.2 kg and includes a rain cover for additional protection. Most baby strollers in the market prioritize function over style. Others completely forget about its style altogether. Not with the full-featured strollers from Maclaren that we are going to discuss today.

Most of the repairs I’ve done over the years have been related to the wheels mostly swivel or brake problems related to the rip your hair out awful to disassemble, dual wheel no ball bearing system they have or rather had going on. Dual wheels. I mean, come on. On strollers of this size. You really need eight separate wheels. Actually, after reading about oh and Maclaren it’s hard for me not to look at those dual wheels is coming directly from aero-plane design. Am I right? I’m actually going to lay off all of these wheel issues though because despite the fact that most other umbrella stroller manufacturers still use a dual wheel approach. With a maximum baby weight capacity of 15 kilograms, this stroller accommodates a range of sizes and ages. It is designed to provide a secure and comfortable environment for your little one, allowing you to confidently navigate your daily activities. Then coming from the premise that it’s competition that has been eroding the position of Maclaren strollers, we must ask what it is about the design. The umbrella structure that is the heart of the company itself that seems to have trouble living up to the competitors. Either inherent flaws to the design? And if so, what are they? Well, having repaired several Maclaren’s over the years? I can say definitely that yes, there are flaws to the design. I had the Quest, but it was looking a bit scruffy (absolutely nothing wrong with it, but any excuse to buy a new pram!) so I bought the Techno when DD was 18 months knowing that I wanted a third child and that sometimes it was going to be easier with a stroller than a big pram. I like a baby in a proper pram, but with 3 kids and all their stuff sometimes there just won't be room in the car boot for it!

I absolutely love this stroller. It is in another class than the rest of them. I am a grandmother and bought it for my first grandson, now six. It was supposed to have been used at my place when they are visiting, but my daughter loved it so much that she had sold the one they bought and used the Maclaren. The Maclaren Techno XT is a flagship Maclaren stroller. It is easily manoeuvrable and has a high weight capacity. The Techno XT is one class lower than the highest Techno XLR. Compared to the XLR, the XT is lighter and has a slightly smaller seat. Although the stroller is not compatible with a car seat, thanks to the soft carrycot, Maclaren Techno XT is suitable to use from birth. It is easy to handle, not heavy and fits anywhere - even next to the driver in the car. You can see that it is sewn from quality material - nothing is ripping anywhere, nothing hangs. And it is just very nice to look at - who wouldn't love a Maclaren, right? :) It is easy to fold, to store to travel with and it seems as if the babies also love it. The covers are durable, easy to remove for washing, as well as beautiful. We just love the footmuffs. We like to take long walks and now in winter, it is a fantastic accessory to the stroller.
