Kinane, Ruth (10 June 2020). "Queer Eye's Tan France becomes an American citizen, is ready to vote: 'The timing couldn't be more perfect' ". Entertainment Weekly . Retrieved 10 June 2020. How to do it: Take a bowl and pump in some natural body lotion, oil or a balm such as this one by Wildcrafted Organics. The following skin lightening home remedies are been used by people since ages, but do not contain any scientific proof. 1. Lemon juice and Honey

Yes, it’s true that getting a daily dose of sunshine is good for you. You get plenty of vitamin D this way, and that boosts your immunity. Sunshine also helps regulate hormones such as melatonin, which can lead to better sleep. And of course, the sun’s rays lead to a lovely glow on the skin. Isn’t the whole point of QE to get people to be the best version of themselves? To love themselves, no matter the flaws? This intention isn’t really synonymous with one of its stars penning a book dragging every single thing he hates in fashion because it’s not to his personal taste. I bought his memoir to read about his life and learn more about him because I like him, not to be told my long hair made me look like I’d just escaped from a cult. Stroude, Will (5 November 2018). "Strictly's Dr. Ranj Singh: 'Coming out as gay to my wife was hard, but telling my family was another level' ". Attitude . Retrieved 12 April 2020.

I had the good fortune to attend an author event with Tan France, and it was an incredibly delightful evening. Tan, who came to fame as the fashion expert on Netflix's show "Queer Eye," was hilarious and charming and it was a joy to hear him tell his stories.

Having been "working towards" it for 10 years, France was naturalized as an American citizen on 9 June 2020, [37] making him a dual British and American citizen. [38] He has discussed his love for cooking and baking, having learned how to cook and sew at the age of nine. [39] The angle of the sun and time of day also matter. The closer you are to the equator, the more likely you are to tan or burn. I’m not sure I should admit this, but I fully relate to this statement Tan included: ”I’d love to be a better person but I just like being right.” ;) This book is told in the first person point of view following Tan France, a Netflix Queer Eye star specializing in fashion. He was born in England and experienced racism against Pakistanis for being a person of color. He learned fashion from an early age through his grandfather’s denim factory. He worked many different jobs growing up and travel to USA often for fun. While in USA he met Rob, now husband and they started dating. Since he couldn’t get married to a man to stay in USA with Rob, they continue their relationship long distance. Later he started a business in the fashion industry to obtain work permit and eventually US green card. Remember: Tanning, or the production of melanin in your skin cells, continues for a few hours after you have been in the sun/ on a sunbed. So you don’t need to sit in the sun/ on a sunbed until you see a colour develop for you to know that you have gotten a tan. Your cells have already been stimulated to start the tanning process, and by giving your skin a rest after exposure (i.e. sitting indoors or in the shade after tanning in the sun) it will benefit tremendously in getting you the tan you’re after. By evening, you will be browner than you were during your tanning session.Tan was born in Pakistan and raised in Britain, he is also Muslim. He talks about what it was like going to school and growing up in a mostly white neighborhood. It absolutely broke my heart to hear how desperately Tan wished he were white when he was younger. I'm glad he has come to accept his skin color, as its beautiful! He grew up in a strict Muslim household, so it was so fun reading about his acts of rebellion. I cannot imagine getting on a plan at the age of seventeen and flying to New York, and telling my parents I was sleeping over at a friends. He is a little bit of a bad boy! We often get asked if very fair-skinned people can get a real tan. Yes! We know it’s possible. We’ve seen them out there. Scandinavians, Germans, people who are naturally incredibly pale, parading around with stunning golden tans. How do they do it? We got hold of some of these clever tanned goddesses and they revealed their tanning secrets for the fair-skinned… read on! Chemical techniques involve chemicals that dissolve dead skin cells, such as alpha and beta hydroxy acids. And there are so many things in the book that I found endearing because of the relatability. The conservative nature of the family while growing up, all the nosy family members, the ways we are restricted in terms of dressing up or making friends or going out and how we all learn to lie to do what we want to do - it was so reflective of my own life growing up that I found it very nostalgic. It’s also lovely to see him want to incorporate his culture within his style and I think his mehndi is a wonderful statement in that regard. He is also quite open about the rampant colorism in the South Asian community and our obsession with being fair (essentially white) and associating lighter skin with beauty and his journey about realizing the importance of respecting his own skin color felt so similar to mine. There are many such instances in this book where I thought ... “wow this is exactly what happened to me too” ... and that’s one of the main reasons I really enjoyed this one. The juice extracted from potatoes is a powerful bleaching agent. It can lighten sun tan as well as your dark circles. Peel off the skin of a potato and grind it in a blender. Apply it on tanned areas of your face and leave it for 15 minutes. Wash it off with cold water. 5. Coconut Milk
