An anime adaptation by studio MAPPA adapted the first part of the series up to the Katana Man arc in its first season. I'm not a huge manga reader, but I am always looking out for manga that I might like (I'm a picky little so-and-so). After being killed on a job, he is revived by his pet devil Pochita and becomes something new and dangerous—Chainsaw Man!

Side note: I watched the first two episodes of the CSM anime, and I like feel the adaptation definitely flubs what makes the manga so funny and weird. He's the classic lovesick, dopey boy that doesn't seem to have any serious thoughts or perceptions of reality. The writing was juvenile at best, the plot was threadbare, the characters were nothing but recycled tropes you'll find in a hundred other manga. The series' first part, "Public Safety arc" ( 公安編, Kōan-hen), ran in Shueisha's shōnen manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 3, 2018, [1] [2] to December 14, 2020; [3] [4] following the series' conclusion in Weekly Shōnen Jump, a second part was announced to start on Shueisha's Shōnen Jump+ online magazine. As young Denji and his pet demon become one being, he becomes the Chainsaw Man - half man, half demon.

When Denji is betrayed by someone he trusts, he becomes permeated with the devil’s powers and unleashes them in the form of Chainsaw Man.As Denji's story unfolds, readers are taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions, from heart-pounding action to genuine moments of connection and introspection. The series will premiere in 2022 and whilst a specific release date has not been shared, fans are expecting the series to debut on the Fall broadcasting slate in October.
