About this deal

Like with artisanal mezcal, first there is a bonfire and once the fire dies down, stones and, if preferred, wet agave fibres are added. Though it's very much a sipping mezcal, you won't regret using it in the best Paloma you've ever tasted. The majority use the pit oven, where the fire is lit at the bottom of the pit before a layer of small stones is added.

The multi-award-winning Dos Hombres Mezcal is the product of multiple generations of proud Mezcal producers from the small village of San Luis del Rio, in a remote section of Oaxaca. It has been used in indigenous events in Mexico for centuries – births, weddings funerals and spiritual rituals have all been accompanied by Mezcal, and they still are. It is often served with a slice of orange dipped in salt or Tajín (spicy Mexican seasoning made of chilli, lime and salt).

The most common variety, used to make up to 90% of all mezcal, is the fast-growing espadin, which reaches maturity in just 7 years, in comparison to others that take much longer to be ready for cultivation. In cocktails it is really easy and versatile to use, especially in classic cocktails replacing the traditional base ingredient with it or using it as a modifier to add different notes to it. To make the mezcal, piñas from the agave plants are cooked in earthen pits to release sugars, before being crushed using a tahona wheel. id":42773659222263,"title":"Default Title","option1":"Default Title","option2":null,"option3":null,"sku":"IHT\/MESCAL\/ADH\/0. There’s a certain viscosity of this espadin that is welcome and the mouth feel is a light oil coating on your cheeks which keeps these flavors around for a few minutes after each sip.
