To make things even more difficult, the clues are devoid of letter-counts; in other words, the lengths of the solutions are not given. Exactly how much help these starters provide depends on the type of symmetry employed in the design of the grid. This page shows answers to the clue Skeleton, followed by ten definitions like “ Consisting of, or resembling, a skeleton”, “ The supportive framework of an animal body” and “ An aggressive mob that spawns in dark places or night”. If an answer is hyphenated, or consists of more than one word, the solver may be given a warning after the clue (hyphenated) or (three words).

Note that other types of symmetry do not assist the solver quite as much as a fully symmetrical grid. You should also be prepared for a bit of working back - for instance if you are unsure of an answer then it's fine to give it a go, but first be sure that there are no other places where you can make easier or more certain progress - if you guess and find you've got the wrong word then you'll need to be prepared to unwind your work later on.

Similar logic can be used for when you place an answer letter, you know that it's symmetrical partner must also be a solution square.
