The plot sags at times, stretching credibility with a fast-arriving fleet of characters who look exactly like other characters (casting the movie will be easy), building toward a slightly overwrought ending leavened by the tang of psychological ambiguity. The book starts off well as we meet all the characters and fall into the world of all things 'beautiful'.

I was obsessed with Everyone Here Is Lying and read it in less than two days, desperate to know what had happened to Avery Wooler. Douglas second love was psychology since she loves understanding the motivations and drives of people.

Before she got started writing novels, she was a journalist and worked for the likes of “Take-A-Break,” a woman’s magazine where she wrote true life features. Tense, compulsive, atmospheric and emotional, with two wonderful lead characters and an original plot that had me hooked from beginning to end.
