I was thinking about the slower S-GR pad because it could help with the stopping but at the same time I’ve heard that it makes transitions even harder. As far as tracking is concerned: I think it comes down to preference (and sensitivity) as opposed to saying ‘this or that pad is best for tracking’ and of course your sensitivity plays a role as well (I wouldn’t say a control pad such as the G-SR is ideal for people with an extremely low sensitivity, but opinions vary).

Don’t get me wrong, though: this is a very consistent control surface, and there’s pretty much no speed to it at all. It’s a highly specialized product, and certainly not for everyone, but not every product needs to be. Hi, I just bought the zowie g-sr and I really like it, I accompany it with my logitech g203, according to your experience I currently use 400 dpi and 2. This won’t please everyone (then again, no product does) but it is a great option for people who have a tendency to use large, aggressive swipes or for gamers who often find themselves overshooting their target. Aside from that the G-SR has a way more controlled glide, whereas the QcK has a faster glide in my opinion. On the G-SR II, the humidity issues have been dropped down to just a mild annoyance rather than a full-blown performance limiter, so that’s definitely nice to see.

ZOWIE made a number of promises when they first unveiled the G-SR-SE Rouge, and from what I can tell they’ve delivered on all of them. From the bottom layer to the top, this pro-level mouse pad gives consistent, reliable, and precise control of the mouse. There’s always going to be resistance when using the G-SR II, both when swiping as well as when you’re doing very small micro-level mouse movements.

I mentioned this in the review, and the G-SR loses a bit of its original gliding qualities after about 1. And having other cookies switched off can seriously affect the way you’ll be able to enjoy our services. I suppose that’s part of the reason why ZOWIE are going for these types of designs, but I do wish they’d also release some more subtle designs, or even a plain black version. If you want a completely custom-designed mousepad then the InkedGaming mousepads are a great choice. To test this, I made parts of the pad a bit moist with a cloth and found that the glide remained pretty similar.

To me personally, the G-SR-SE Rouge felt just a little bit too fast (I prefer control-oriented pads) but that certainly didn’t stop me from thoroughly enjoying my time with it, and by the time I was done testing it I got along with the gliding experience so nicely that I forgot all about my preference for slower, muddier mousepads. It does require a bit of maintenance though, so you’ll need to wash it quite often if you want to keep that fresh gliding experience. The surface is on the rougher side (as you’d expect from a control pad) but it feels very consistent, and the same can be said for the foam underneath the playing surface, though more on that later. One small negative thing to note is that this pad tends to lose its initial feeling pretty quickly when compared to other pads. This is a good option for people who have an uneven desk, and for people who like to game away from their own desk a lot. The mousepad is a piece of kit that’s often ignored by the more casual gaming audience, but that really shouldn’t be the case. Coming in at an impressive 6 millimeters in thickness, the SteelSeries QcK Heavy is one of the thicker pads out there. I find myself switching between the two depending on what mouse I’m using, but for the EC2-B the G-SR would be a great pairing, in my opinion. Note that, while we try to measure mousepad characteristics objectively and in a controlled environment, these results are still just approximations.

You can also create a customized Gigantus V2 and have Razer ship it to you if you want to, be do note that those custom versions are quite a bit faster than the regular V2. As I mentioned earlier, I sadly don’t have a fresh G-SR to compare testing results to, but the X/Y difference on the G-SR II is 14. Something that was noted when this pad was first announced was that there would be a smaller X/Y difference in the glide.
