Description

If you have a very heavy period, you’ll probably want all the protection you can get! You’ll probably want a high-capacity menstrual cup, overnight cloth menstrual pad, and then you can get an extra layer in there with an interlabial pad.

As far as which option is best? We’d recommend reusable pantyliners hands down. They’re far easier to use (they fit into place with snaps on the wings), and stay in place much better than an Interlabial pad. We have three different kinds: overnight, cotton, and supers. The overnight and supers are both made with Zobra and the cotton is made with cotton velour. The fabrics that we use on the inside can hold up to the maximum capacity of what is needed. They can also hold the minimum amount so there’s no reason to continue adding layers and make it feel like you’re wearing a diaper. Our pads are trim, comfortable, and can hold the maximum absorbency, all with just one layer! Reusable Cloth Pads for Heavy Menstural Flow From My Shop Interlabial Reusable Cloth Pads The major negative is that period panties are quite a bit more expensive than intralabial pads, often 3-4x more. Is it worth it? Perhaps yes, perhaps no. It’s up to you! The post DAME introduces ‘mini miracle’ interlabial pads appeared first on NP NEWS | The online home of Natural Products magazine. If you’re looking for some extra protection for bleeding (menstrual or post-partum), spotting, incontinence, or vaginal discharge, you may be considering interlabial pads. But, how do they compare to period panties? Let’s find out! Commenting on the launch, celia Pool, DAME co-founder said: “Interlabial pads might be a lesser-known period product at present, but we are so excited to be spreading the word of this mini pad and its fantastic uses. Here at DAME, our mission is to make periods positive, so we are thrilled to be making this product using offcuts, causing as little harm to our environment as possible.”

One last very important thing: wear your reusable pads with period panties. When I know I’m going to be sleeping and I don’t want to get up in the middle of the night, I wear period panties to make myself feel a little bit more secure. Vegan-certified and treated with sustainable odour control using non-nano recycled silver, the pads can also be worn for up to six hours and washed and reused for years. Our reusable pads are made with SILVADUR, which infuses silver ions into the fabric, and it is both tested and proven to be safe for the skin. They’re also an antimicrobial ion that inhibits bacteria, fungi, and algae growth which helps control bad odors! MinkySewing a pattern on the pad can help keep the layers in place through washing and use. It can also help to keep the layers from billowing if you are doing one of the rolls. It is indeed possible to sew your own intralabial pads. However, if you’re like me and don’t even know how to turn on a sewing machine, then buying might be a better option! Interlabial pads, fold lengthwise and pop between your labia (like a ‘wedgie'!) close to the entrance of your vagina. Leave a couple of cm at the front to remove it when you go to the toilet. Washing The other reason why you might want to use a pantyliner instead of interlabial pad is that they stay in place better. You can move around, exercise, go pee and not have a second thought about it. An interlabial pad? Not so much. Compare Reusable Cloth Pantyliners

Some of the most popular period panty brands you may have heard of include Thinx, Modibodi, Dear Kates, and Period Panteez. Most of the pads in my shop are super absorbent, all the way from the extra small to the 18-inch. All of our pads have the same three layers. We do not have pads with more than three layers because it’s not needed.

You may also have days during your period when your flow is light and you don’t need a pad, cup or tampon. On these days, you can wear your period panties because they have a waterproof lining that leaves you completely protected!

As the highly descriptive title suggests- interlabial pads are worn lengthwise between the labia. They come in various shapes and absorbencies like regular cloth pads but the way they’re made can make cleaning and drying easier or harder. Some advantages to interlabial pads above traditional liners or wrap around pads that go in underwear include comfort, discretion, and a different way of catching flow before it leaks for those who tend to “gush” as one maker puts it. Fans of sea sponges like to note that they are more comfortable than tampons and can be worn during intercourse. Detractors worry about the cleanliness and find removal can sometimes be messy. As with other alternative menstrual products, there is a learning curve. A great tip is to just rinse your pad off in the shower. Once you’ve completely rinsed it, you can store it in your menstrual bag. If you don’t have time to get in the shower, use cold water in the sink to rinse it out. When your period is over, wash all of your pads in the washing machine.
