In this auto-biography about her you find out about her teachers, schools, parents, outings, holidays and friends. The book details her very early life, from babyhood to the summer she was 11, when she is about to start at secondary school. It was also very interesting to find out more about the author who wrote so many of my favourite childhood books.

So it’s on me for not realising this was aimed at her usual age group, but I wanna know what happened the rest of her life!

For me though this was a little bit slow, I wanted so much more information about her life and was just given little snippets which is great for children but not if you're genuinely interested and want to see what her childhood was like. Whilst I did love this book and learning about Jacqueline Wilson's life, there are a few things that I didn't enjoy so much. Each chapter ends with a passage from one of the author's books, which has been directly influenced by her own childhood. She has written over 100 books and is the creator of characters such as Tracy Beaker and Hetty Feather.As well as winning many awards for her books, including the Children’s Book of the Year, Jacqueline is a former Children’s Laureate, and in 2008 she was appointed a Dame. who was jaquline wilsons childhood hero) and about the long walk she took in Richmond park on a school trip with her Teacher boy that headmaster must of been angry. Jacky Daydream is really special to me as Jacqueline Wilson is probably the best childrens author of all time, for me anyway. It was an okay book because you get to know loads of facts about Jacqueline Wilson (I’m a fan of hers), but it kind of starts to get a bit boring. I felt nostalgic all the way through, though I think it’s fair to say I wasn’t as enthralled as I was reading it at 10. I really loved figuring out her hobbies, and especially all of the little questions asked at the end of each chapter relating to one of her books. One of Jacqueline’s most successful and enduring creations has been the famous Tracy Beaker, who first appeared in 1991 in The Story of Tracy Beaker. I felt sorry for her when her Dad, Harry got into these terrible rants, and when Biddy, her Mom was forever telling her to pull her stomach in.Jacky Daydream is an autobiographical book about Jacqueline Wilson's childhood, first published in 2007. Jacqueline has won the prestigious Smarties Prize and the Children's Book Award for DOUBLE ACT, which was also highly commended for the Carnegie Medal.
