The Apollo Visual Ultrasonic comes with two parts, firstly a tank mounted ultrasonic transmitter with level readout compatible with most modern plastic fuel storage tanks that have a 32mm port usually fitted to the tank. The Apollo Oil Tank Gauge is an easy to retrofit, ultrasonic level indicator generally used as a domestic oil tank gauge. If working properly out of the tank then the problem is within the tank, ie, the position of transmitter on the tank, try relocating the transmitter. The receiver is a standard 3 pin plug which can be placed anywhere in the home to suit you perfectly.

My oil tank just has a 20mm hole on the top so, having spoken to a very helpful guy in Ray Grahams, the Apollo was the only one that was suitable for my particular tank (unless I wanted to start drilling a bigger hole, which I didn't!
