About this deal

The Nextbase 412GW pushes the boundaries of what a Dash Cam is capable of, featuring quad HD 1440p footage, which delivers stunning image quality at 30 frames per second. If the battery lasts for less than 3 minutes, the battery may have reached the end of it's lifespan. As well as the map, you also see the recorded speed, heading, acceleration and various other facts and figures. The supplied 4m power lead is a good length to feed around the door frame and windscreen although, as with many other in-car devices, the lead is fitted into its own 12V plug meaning that if you need to use a phone charger or satnav then you’ll have to invest in a splitter for the power socket.

I think that’s a fairly normal requirement for most people, so, time to fit and test the NextBase 412GW iN-Car Cam on the Volvo windscreen. Video quality is good across a range of lighting and weather conditions although the audio is a little quiet. The top of the range 612GW is top of the range - offering 4k UHD picture quality and all the tech and features you can imagine! Parking Mode too cumbersome to switch on/off every time; I suggest that with a 128GB micro-SD card fitted there's enough recording time to simply leave it continuously recording whilst you're away (if your vehicle's power socket is live when you're parked). The better your problem and question is described, the easier it is for other Nextbase owners to provide you with a good answer.I noticed the picture wasn’t perfectly smooth when played back through the NextBase programme, not sure if this was a limitation on my Laptop or the software, but when I played the file direct from the Laptop File browser through my media player … WOW … the resulting playback was fantastic and super smooth … like I was back in the car. If you’re desperate for a bit more storage on your memory card or never envisage using the WiFI smartphone link then you can always disable the Dual-Files in the dashcam settings.

After reading your post, I've noticed that my radio signal is better, now that my dashcam has gone in for repair.

So I thought I'd try narrowing the possible causes and having followed the Charge Test I found on another thread here I think that established that the battery has just enough power to show the NextBase logo on powering up so that just leaves the mysterious sd card to sort out .

You can get a clip on ferrite ring that’ll possibly help with the radio, it just clips onto the power cable. This ensures that a larger area of the road is covered, giving users a comprehensive view of their surroundings. IN-BUILT G-SENSOR AND NIGHT VISION: The inbuilt G-Sensor is used to lock away important files from the result of an impact as the cam works on an auto-loop feature. Dash cams will generally require an SD card that's class 10 or higher - this means you can record moving images and audio! When reviewing footage on a desktop, you are able to see the vehicles location data on the screen, providing court admissible video evidence. It is equipped with a range of features and functionalities to provide users with reliable and high-quality footage of their journeys. You can also live stream what the camera is currently recording - very handy in determining the position of the Dash Cam on the windscreen. There are different settings depending on what mode you are in (video, photo, playback/gallery) and pressing ‘Menu’ once will bring these up. In the box you get the iN-Car CAM, Powered GPS mount, Suction Cup or Permanent fixing, Car Power Cable, USB Cable, Manual/Software Disk, Quick Start Guide and a Window Sticker.
