About this deal

Two wolf shifters agree to be fake mates but unexpectedly find something real in this steamy paranormal romantic comedy by Lana Ferguson. I laughed so freaking much during this book but on that same note I was also v hot and bothered during majority of it. We love a sweet man in the streets, but with an extremely dirty mouth in the sheets ;)

Do you know when you’re in the mood for the kind of read where the book is fun and the writing is so easy to follow and the spice is SPICY? this is so much that!! Suddenly unemployed Cassie has two options: get a new job (and fast) or fire up her long-untouched OnlyFans account. When she spots an ad for a live-in nanny position it seems like the solution to all her problems . . . The Characters—Aiden is so dreamy and I really liked Cassie too! But the side characters flesh out this book so well. Wanda, Aunt Iris, and Sophie help bring this world to life.

Nothing exciting happened in the story besides Cassie and Aiden’s romance, but I need more than just a romance plot to keep me interested. So I started skimming around 30% because both characters would drone on with internal dialogue about their attraction to the other or just describe the day. It was boring writing unless the MCs were interacting directly, so the story as a whole was underwhelming. year-old Aiden Reid is an executive Chef with an extremely busy schedule and a adorable 9-year-old she-devil of a child who ran off her the last 4 nannies. Aiden struggles between making time to take care of his daughter and running the kitchen at the fancy restaurant he works at. He's hopeful the next Nanny will be the one. I love this book so much! Main characters were incredible! I became a big fan of Wanda! And I loved Sophie so much, totally agreed with her Encanto obsession and not to talk about Bruno!

BRING ME ALL THE DILFS PLZ. No but seriously if you like a single dad romance, with sprinkles of humor, amazing characters, & a boatload of steam, then this is the book for you!! Outside of the main couple, I love how well Ruby balanced the transition of one series to another while not letting the new details overshadow the couple at hand! There were so many new things to get excited about for the future that we saw in this book, but it never took away from the sweet, sweet satisfaction of finally seeing precious baby R'Jaal (with a surprisingly dirty mouth (praise, Ruby)) get his happily ever after. Many thanks to NetGalley and Berkley Publishing for sharing this amazing digital reviewer copy with me in exchange my honest thoughts. I would be lying if I said I didn't read this for the spice. Someone told me it was very spicy and I needed something with a little bit of heat. But you know when something becomes spicy just because you have thrown TOO MUCH pepper in and not because you used exotic spices? Yeah, that's basically this... There is quite a bit of smut but it's pretty much 80% just bland vanilla. Smart, fun, sexy, and sizzling with romantic tension, The Nanny is a mouth-wateringly delicious take on second chances with a healthy dash of steam. I can't wait for more from Lana Ferguson! * Sara Desai, author of The Singles Table *

Summary

I had seen this pop up on my feed a few times and I knew with a description like that I had to read it and I am so happy I did!!

From the moment we met R'Jaal on the island and saw him making sad eyes because Marisol didn't resonate to him—I knew I was not going to get any rest until I saw him get happiness. It was a long wait, but boy was it worth it. Rosalind was everything R'Jaal needed, and R'Jaal is the definition of "it's always the quiet ones". (THANK GOD.) There was that staple translation error human between sweet baby R'Jaal and Rosalind (poor babies will just never understand slang) and the romance that blossomed between them was so sweet and scorching hot.

Delete me now because this book has become my entire personality. I don't even know where to start. The banter? The references? The adorable moments? The scorching ones? But let’s just pretend sex workers, especially women, don’t routinely get stalked. That’s so not a thing, right? Wanted: full-time live-in nanny position. Experience with children is a must. Free room and board. Serious inquiries only.”

I loveddddd this book. I loved the quirky "meet-ugly" that brought these two together, and I loved all the bumpy road fun that came thereafter that brought these two dummies closer and closer together. Adalyn is so relatable in her inner need to be perfect, so afraid to disappoint someone because she's tied her worth to how much she can succeed (can you have classic middle child syndrome without being a middle child?) and I loved watching her learn about her own worth through Cameron's eyes, and realizing she was more than just her work all along.

When Cassie loses her job in the children hospital, her plans to keep a roof above her head and pay her school tuitions sound like impossible plan to her! She needs a job covering her expanses urgently! Her dreams come through so fast than she expected when she answers an ad for live-in nanny position and gets summoned to an interview with her future boss at the restaurant he works at. There was a big to-do about Sophie being such a difficult child who ran off several nannies already, but it turned out she was just, like, a normal child? And Cassie wins her over in one or two interactions via regular human decency? That was odd. He’s a chef! He’s extremely hot! And Cassie feels like she knows him from somewhere! And interestingly after having her worst kind of humiliating interview, Aiden still wants her to accept the job and meet with her tough cookie nine years old daughter Sophie who recently loses her mother. ( Don’t worry! Aiden was not married with the mother of Sophie. They had an one night stand ten years ago and they decided to stay friends for sharing custody. ) Also, this was a book about a chef that doesn’t cook for her once in the whole book. He does repeatedly ruin pancakes though, because he inexplicably can’t manage to get that right. And I’m convinced the author has never met a human child.
