The Revopoint MINI ships with three different software applications: Revo scan (scanning application), Revo Studio (professional-grade model editing software), and Revo Calibration (simple and easy-to-use calibration suite). The Revopoint exports to PLY, OBJ, and STL. The turntable provided with the CR-Scan Lizard is super basic but effective. I did some experimenting after I found out how to increase the number of frames in the config file for a turntable scan. The thought was if I double the frame count and half the turntable speed, I could capture more points giving better scans. I sacrificed a cheap USB extension cable and installed a pot to lower the voltage. I went as far as to more than triple the frames and third the speed of the turntable….but alas I couldn’t see any appreciable difference and just added time. Over to Creality, the CR-Scan 01 offers 0.5 mm precision and accuracy of 0.1 mm, while the CR-Scan Lizard features a precision of 0.05 mm and 0.1 mm point distance. The Revopoint POP 2 is an upgraded and improved version of the original Revopoint POP. The scan came out reasonably good, which I attribute to its flat white surface. There was significant rounding off of the sharp edges though. I was disappointed that the eye detail is completely gone, though. Please forgive the crop on the right, as I still have not figured out how to move an object in the CR Studio software, if it’s even possible to do so.
